YOU ARE MY CUP OF TEA.

You are my cup of tea & so is this dress.
Collar, check. Black and white, Check. It’s all here bundled up in this perfect LBD thanks to Topshop. There’s something so perfect about a peterpan collar that has me spending. It looks great peaking out from an over sized knit and adds that small detail to a simple black dress.
This combined together is like the sugar to my tea. Heaven.
However during this cold spurt we are having I most definitely wouldn’t leave the house like this (bare legs burrrr) therefore adding tights and a jumper/cardigan makes this slightly more weather appropriate and dresses it down too, for a simple casual look.

As I mentioned before, London next week, time has flown in! Thank you so much for all your suggestions for things to do, most definitely keep them coming. As I don’t have a lot of free time I need to start planning what to squeeze in and to stop me from shopping every minute!

I also just want to say a big thanks for all the twitter love my blog has received over the past couple of weeks, really appreciate everyones help for spreading the Love Cloth word.

COLD MEETS NEW.

So as quick as the snow appeared here, it went… I’m sure you're all sick of the sight of it but thought as a blogger I would add my obligatory snow themed post, I hope you don’t mind.

My new found love… this vintage coat. Where has this been hiding all my life?  I’ll tell you where… My mum’s wardrobe! It's great having a family who’s into fashion; so am sure, as I carry on a rummage of her things I will give more old unworn clothes and new lease of life. Like I’ve mentioned before I am a bit of a coat collector and this definitely works for me, it’s so cosy, perfect for the snow and has this cool 70’s vide or something.

After crushing on Rick Edwards in the latest Oliver Spencer Menswear AW13 show (check out boymeetsfashion post, his backstage photos are amazing) I decided to get my hands on this cosy jumper from the brand. Of course it's mens, but they fit so much better. Who could resist the teacher themed elbow patches or this strange little pocket… that will be for my lipstick thank you very much Mr Spencer.

I am heading to London in the coming weeks, so I’m starting a new “what to do list” … I’ve done pretty much everything on the tourist menu, so if you guys have any suggestions for a quirky place/interesting restaurant or amazing shops... Throw some ideas this way.

Hope your having fun in the snow

IF YOU'RE A BIRD... I'M A BIRD.

I seem to be channelling my ten-year-old self recently; dungaree-esque items look to be big for SS13. I’m dying to get my hands on a proper old school denim pair or crazy print ones. Roll on summer and ditching the 100-denier tights, what you think?
I’m in love with this playsuit/pinafore from topshop, it’s so cute and can be worn with anything really. I normally pair it with a stripy tee (still in my monochrome phase) that I will show you soon but for now check out this beautiful shirt by Equipment.
I have a love affair with these shirts, I want every single one but sadly cant afford them all. They are the most perfect fit; for me, I favour a more masculine style, slightly oversized and relaxed. This colour was hard to resist. An electric blue brightens up any dull day or bird watching, if only I could work these silly binoculars.

The title "If you're a bird... I'm a bird" is from my favourite film The Notebook, if you havent seen it...firstly, i'm in shock. Secondly, go right now and watch it!
If your lucky enough to have snow (not me) this is perfect for a cosy sunday in! I might just go watch it myself, any excuse!

Thanks to my lovely friend Kerry of 17twelve, who snapped the photos! she does amazing design work, so go have a look (she featured in a previous post too)

DOWN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GARDEN.

Down at the bottom of the garden…
You’ll find me, prancing about and freezing my butt off. Getting slightly tired of indoor photos due to the grey skies, so as the rain died down I made a dash for the fresh air, but not before grabbing my new bag to show you all as I’ve harped on about it enough. Thank you Santa (mum and dad), this has to be my best present to date and the biggest suprise. I’m not usually a designer label gal, but there’s just something about the mulberry brand that has me drawn in. (Check out the new Campaign below) I am probably the only girl on the planet to match her Mulberry bag with a pair of Ebay (£15) shoes. But oh well.

Here I’m wearing my usual shirt and skirt combo, a fave wardrobe staple of mine. To inject some interest into an otherwise simple outfit I’ve added this cute bow tie again that I wore here and some patterned tights. Wa la it looks lightly more charming.
I’ve also been pondering the world of Pinterest… sorry what?! An hour has past? It’s highly addictive.

I love finding illustrated quotes. I found this one by Oscar Wilde and thought it was something I should remember, so recreated my own design and thought I would start popping some good ones into posts. If your on there wasting time like me, say hi!

PART OF THAT WORLD.

As a child I wanted to be the little mermaid and as an adult I have always wanted Mulberry. So my heart skipped a beat when I saw this amazing campaign for Mulberry's Spring Summer 13. Photographed by the talented Tim Walker and featuring model Meghan Collison.
Mulberry always adds beautiful themes to their collections and campaigns, something fairytale-esque (if that’s a word) which I love. I find it fasnicating how they capture British heritage whilst being so modern.

''The campaign images reflect Emma Hill's vision for the season, a dream scape of delicate powdery pastels inspired by corals and lunar landscapes provides the perfect context for Meghan Collison's striking beauty.'' Georgia Fendley Mulberry brand director

What do you think?

MONOCHROME ME.

January 2013 is well and truly in full swing and somehow I’m stuck in black and white. No really, everything I wear lately doesn’t seem to fall too far from greyscale, as displayed here and I’m sure which you will see from upcoming posts. It must be this darn weather and grey skies that have me coordinating. I cant wait to see some blue up there again.

Lucky for black and white, they are up there with my favourite colours to wear, with a pop of red lipstick your good to go. (Red lipstick is my go to for dressing up any outfit)

It’s hard to tell from these photographs but what I like about this outfit are the mixed fabrics, chiffon shirt, jersey top and velvet textured trousers. It kind of makes wearing a lot of black, a little less boring.

Things aren’t all grey. I’ve headed into 2013 feeling very positive and excited. Mainly because I have two trips already planned, which I can’t wait for… How is everyone’s January going so far?

This post was taken pre Christmas, that some how got lost in the post....but after hemming and hawing I thought I would just post it anyway, with a few of you saying you'd want to still see it. Stay tuned for a brand spanking new 2013 post featuring my new bag. Coming soon :)

A MERRY MAC - MAS

So after spending the end of Christmas and New Years away from home, I am finally back and able to reflect on how spoilt I was this year.
By no means am I an expert on make up (a la the amazing beauty bloggers I read and wish I could do my make up like them) but I thought I would share this wonderful pressie I received this Christmas.
They know me too well and as a lipstick-aholic these two beauties will definitely be on rotation. ‘Please me’ is perfect for day, while I cant wait to sport Nicki’s Viva Glam’ on a night out and all summer.
With all this lipstick wearing I would recommend this lip conditioner hydrant by Mac. I usually use 8 hour cream on my lips but this smells soooo much better.
As I’ve mentioned im all about the lips, so I am really excited to get practicing my eye skills. Ek best get on some Youtube tutorials! This cute little smokey eye package is perfect to sample whats on offer.
Lastly on my new Mac additions is the lovely Prep and Prime by Mac.
Primer is a go to for my routine, to make sure my make up stays in place. I would get this again but I must say it has a bit too much shimmer in it for everyday use.
Second to my lipstick addiction are my nails…I’ve more polishes than sense.
Ok, so this is veering away from my Mac*mas theme but hey. If your looking for the best nail polish on the market, I highly recommend OPI, it’s a real treat.  This colour Lincoln Park After Dark” will be no exception and make an appearance in up coming posts.

Hope you enjoyed this little make up variation. Fashion posts will resume next!

WHAT I WORE - 2012

Thought I would do a wee round up of 2012. I dont think these photographs feature in the posts themselves, just thought I'd show the ones that didn't make the cut for one reason or another and links to the full story.
Hope you enjoy!

London Love.
This is probably one of my favourite posts and earliest, taken by my lovely friend Hayley. It was a gorgeous sunny day in london and we had just spent the day eating our way through borough market! I also had just noticed people watching from an apartment window, so I was giving them a wave and cringing inside.

Wish you were here & Goodbye summer love
Dreaming of summer, its my favourite season for fashion. I love dresses and these where no exception. The grey is perfect to throw on during the day and the black was super dressy and girlie for night.

Lumberjack
Not only do I love trees (see post) I am addicted to coats... and this is by far my favourite to date. Hello Penfield!

Not to be mushy but thanks to the followers 2012, old and new. Hope you've enjoyed reminiscing or getting up to speed on whats happened so far.
